Do you ever find yourself needing another output to drive a 24 volt lock or some other control device needing a higher voltage than your 12V power system with 12 volt battery? How about a 48V or 57V output to provide (POE) power over the Ethernet?

The DC12XX40 is a DC to DC boost converter that converts a nominal 12 VDC input to a preset regulated DC output (xx) from 16 VDC to 57 VDC with 40W of power. The input can actually be from 10 VDC up to the output voltage.

This converter is very useful when a continuous regulated voltage between 16 VDC and 57 VDC is needed. This allows 2 output voltages from 1 battery source. The input range can be as low a 9 VDC and as high as the output voltage.

The voltage range of a 12v lead acid battery can be as broad as 9.5 VDC to 16 VDC. This wide range of voltage on the input provides a well regulated output voltage of ordered value between 16 and 57 volts DC.

A 24 VDC output at 1.5A (36W) will require a little more than 3A of 12 VDC on the input (39W).
